NBC to Trump: “You’re Fired!”

NBC has severed ties with Donald Trump after he has exposed himself as a racist, egotistical dolt. He might have a lot of money and be the main man in Celebrity Apprentice but now he is poorer of one of those things. According to Vulture, the show will go on… without Trump. The immediate result:… NBC to Trump: “You’re Fired!” was originally published on Rhyme et Reason Continue reading NBC to Trump: “You’re Fired!”

Why The Voice Chose Right in Sawyer Fredericks

From the first opening lines of the traditional ballad, “Man of Constant Sorrow”, two of the judges of The Voice, Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams, slammed their buzzers and turned their chairs. The other two, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton, took a few seconds longer, but this enthusiasm and quick recognition of talent was unparallelled in the history of The Voice. There, on the stage, was a mere kid – all of fifteen years old – with long hair and a hat. Not a Pharrell hat, just a Sawyer kind of hat. His voice is richly nuanced, a melodious, unpretentious … Continue reading Why The Voice Chose Right in Sawyer Fredericks

Ann Curry Needs a Makeover?

Ann Curry was never a favorite of mine on The Today Show. Just plain and simple. Still, the manner in which NBC let her go was horrible and degrading. She earned her spot on that show by putting in the fifteen years and playing second fiddle to Katie Couric and Meredith Vieira. But, NBC only cares about money (as is obvious with the Olympic Games coverage) and when Good Morning America overtook Today in the ratings, her head ended up on the chopping block. Rules to Win Celebrity Apprentice

Celebrity Apprentice is a hard game to play, by many accounts.  You don’t get much sleep, you don’t get to choose your teams, cameras are always watching your face for any hint of passive aggressiveness and you have to put up with the ultra detestable Donald Trump. He gets to “fire” you while his progeny watch you work hard and judge you in a game they’ll never play. Thank goodness for Daddy Donald. Watch the episode from April 15th here and see where they went wrong: Celebrity Apprentice Rules to Win Celebrity Apprentice When you are not Project Manager (PM), shut … Continue reading Rules to Win Celebrity Apprentice

Katie Couric returns to Morning TV

Katie Couric wasn’t my favorite, even though she was called “America’s Sweetheart”. I watched the Today Show all through high school for the first half hour that it was on. She was dippy and made dumb jokes but overall she was a pretty good journalist. Then, about six years ago she left and took over for Dan Rather in 2006 at CBS News after he made some embarrassing statements. She was the highest paid news anchor at $15 million. At first she had great ratings, but they steadily fell as America got used to her position on CBS Nightly News. … Continue reading Katie Couric returns to Morning TV
