Lower Dens – “Nootropics”

Have you heard of Lower Dens? Their surreal sound, and Jana Hunter’s voice, is very similar to Beach House which, coincidentally, is the same city they are both from. Lower Dens’ ethereal, dark, and dream pop-py vibe swirl around into a very pleasing sound. It is hard to ignore the Beach House influence, though, even if it isn’t technically listed. Pedal Party! Charm City Pedal Mill

Looking for an excuse to drink heavily? Baltimore’s Star-Spangled Sailabration

Ship sailing through Tide Point in Baltimore. Today is the first day of the Star-Spangled Sailabration that will last until June 19. The ships  have  sailed all the way to  Baltimore for the national  launch of the Bicentennial War of 1812 and the writing of the Star-Spangled Banner. A variety of events will be offered, including free ship tours, waterside festivities, and more. Baltimore Pride is happening this weekend so it’s a busy time for Baltimore. Attend DC or Baltimore Pride 2012

What’s the opposite of homophobic? Homophilic. How can you support gay rights? Do some of the following… If you’re in the Washington D.C. area this weekend, attend Capital Pride for the arts, the parade, and the entertainment which is legendary.
