Pedal Party! Charm City Pedal Mill

Looking for an excuse to drink heavily? It doesn’t need to be a special occasion to book a tour to ride the Charm City Pedal Mill, a 16 seat bike that takes you around to several bars in the Fells Point area. The bike comes from the traditional Fietcafes that are seen often in the Netherlands and Germany. For roughly $30 a person, this bike ride is quite the experience. Didn’t hit the gym before hitting the bar? No problem. You’ll get a workout from pedaling this baby over cobblestone to all of your destinations.  In addition, there are no cover fees … Continue reading Pedal Party! Charm City Pedal Mill

Punch Drunk

As summer approaches, I’m looking for new food and drink recipes to try out for myself and share with others. Yesterday I attended my first drink-making class at a really awesome bar called RYE in Baltimore. The class, cleverly named “TKO: An Afternoon of Punches”, was an hour long class that sat 10 guests who purchased the class through a LivingSocial deal. We talked, asked questions, and listened as Managing Partner/ Head Bartender Doug Atwell, and his fiancé Teri, gave us some information on the history of punch in Europe and the United States. We learned the step-by-step instructions on … Continue reading Punch Drunk

The much-loved Coca-Cola company is attempting to give back to society: in the form of a coke when you hug an inanimate object. At the National University of Singapore, a Coca-Cola Hug Machine has been installed. This machine trades you a Coke for a hug and according to the people at Coca-Cola, this is a hug(e) success. Who wouldn’t want a free coke, though? “Our strategy is to deliver doses of happiness in an … Continue reading Coca-Cola machine: Hugs, not drugs

OMG RLY? Zynga buys Draw Something

They probably said it was “drawsome”. OMGPOP’s Draw Something game for Android and iOS devices has been bought by Zynga in record time. This is great news for OMGPOP, considering they were bought for over $200 million. What surprises most people is that a simple drawing game, albeit with some snappy puns and animation, was worth that much in the first place. It has amassed a following of 35 million players on iOS devices so far. The premise is easy to grasp. You draw a picture, your friend gets the picture as a video of them drawing it and then … Continue reading OMG RLY? Zynga buys Draw Something
