Thenewno2 has a new song (free to download!) which appears on their album thefearofmissingout, which comes out tomorrow. It was produced and features Grammy Award winners Dhani Harrison (son of George Harrison, although he is definitely his own artist) and Paul Hicks. It was recorded in LA and London.
“Make It Home” starts out with piano and clapping, which we are somewhat already inclined to like, and doesn’t stray far from regular pop territory. It shows some growth from their EP which was released in fall 2011.
Thenewno2 will be on Conan tonight (7/30) and will play at Lollapalooza later this year so if you get a chance, see them!
Employing a combination of live and programmed instruments and adding in obscure samples to create an intricate collage of electronica sounds, the sonic textures in thefearofmissingout were enhanced by Harrison as well as guest vocalists RZA, Ben Harper, The Black Knights, Throunn Antonia (Fields, Beck’s Record Club) and Holly Marilyn (The Child).
