“Basically, bees are magical fuzzy little flower-hopping life-bringers.”

In this fantastical and wildly educational short film created by Isabella Rossellini, Burt (or someone impersonating him) of Burt’s Bees talks to the Queen Bee for an extraordinary look inside the hive. Bees need our help as they face Colony Collapse Disorder and other threats. –via

Isabella Rossellini, our favorite animal sexpert, worked with Burt’s Bees to bring us a few shorts about … bees!

Isabella first brought us Green Porno (and then Seduce Me), on the Sundance Channel, and has now illuminated us all with the sex habits of bees and flowers. The last video about the drone bees is my favorite. It features a NSFW picture of bees behind clouds. Clearly, that’s NSFW.

It really offers no solutions for helping bees, beyond supporting local beekeepers who don’t use pesticides and planting wildflowers. That it is so direct, though, is commendable.

Support your local beekeepers!

PS. Is that dog real?

  1. As a beekeeper I think this is a wonderful way to educate people of all ages about the honey bees strugle to survive and the importance of pollinators. Still no explanation from science on CCD “colony collapse disorder”
