Everyone and their mother (see PMA and Refinery29 to name just a few) is posting this song. And as it turns out, with good reason. “Wildest Moments” is quite the single: simple, soulful and repetitive as hell.
The UK’s Jessie Ware has got such a sexy voice, it’s big and rich but doesn’t border on Adele’s signature soon-to-be-elevator-music-wail*. There’s a heavy hip hop-inspired beat too–ubiquitous at this point–and it helps to get you hooked. When she sings “baby, in our wildest moments, we could be the greatest, we could be the greatest…” you can’t help but believe her. Then there’s a pang of sadness when she coos “baby, in our wildest moments, we could be the worst of all.”
Enjoy:
*How is it that artists from the UK and Sweden are consistently doing R&B better than its originators here in the U.S.? I’m not mad!
