Rhyme et Reason darling Lana Del Rey recently stepped into the BBC Live Lounge to record a cover of Kasabian‘s “Goodbye Kiss” and transformed it. Say what you will about her awkward/endearing twirling stage persona: the often ridiculed Ms. Del Rey delivers. It only takes Lana’s Nancy Sinatra-esque drunk-dial pop vocals and a piano to elevate the song from cheesy arena-rock to something timeless. And whereas Kasabian’s “Goodbye Kiss” will never leave the UK, Ms. Del Rey’s burns with such intense aching that it’s sure to “jump the pond” and stain us with its crimson color.
