Don’t just listen to L.A. band The Rebel Light because their song “Goodbye Serenade” is catchy and tinged with melancholy lyrics. Listen to them and then watch their video because they’ve “kept the DIY indie spirit alive and recording costs down by recording the vocals in our bathroom and the drums in a wood shed!”
This indie pop band is going places.
The band is comprised of talented brothers Alan and Jarret Steil, from New York, who moved to Ireland before moving to L.A. last January. They met their long lost drummer cousin, Brandon Cooke, in California and decided to form a Star Wars inspired band. Thus, we have The Rebel Light.
This video is awesome and we give them accolades for that, especially since it turned out so damn well. We also give them accolades for putting Falcor and Atreyu in their video among very many other symbolic and historic figures.
If you’re in the area, be sure to check them out at We School Night at Bardot in Los Angeles on the 12th of November.
Download their album on Bandcamp. The other songs are equally as good, we promise. Find them on Facebook, too.
