RER Recommends: Warm the Cockles of Your Heart

Warm the cockles of your heart now that the leaves are getting crunchier, the air is nippier, and the songs are still piling up. We’re on the edge of autumn and WINTER IS COMING.

How about some songs that make you a little more warm on the inside, as if you had just had that extra mug of hot chocolate or pumpkin spice latte (except without the regret). Leave your own additions in the comments.

Bouncy and blippy, Coach Bombay’s “Love (ft. Elle Young)” is a burst of electro pop energy. Young’s voice is an unexpectedly lovely addition.

Coves, who I was unfamiliar with, put out this really chill version of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game.”

FI.SHE.S are from the cultural mixing pot that is modern Paris. Their song “Quiet is the Monster” is accessible and as well produced as their other songs.

Soft Decay’s dark electro pop synth instrumentals are delicious and deep. Both songs kind of start out the same but that’s not totally bad. They bring you a feeling of the eighties without having some has-been singer ruin it with her now dated lyrics about being wronged. Do you know what I’m talking about?
